Our main aim is to work with the people who are in the field of folk art and to reduce their poverty levels.
Yakshagana is a traditional folk dance form popular in the coastal Karnataka District. It is a rare combination of dance, music, song, scholarly dialogues and colorful costume. It was originally started in the 11th century and is prominent in the areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga and western parts of Chikmagalur districts, in the state of Karnataka and in Kasaragod district in Kerala. Yakshagana is traditionally presented from dusk to dawn. Its stories are drawn from Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavata and other epics from both Hindu and Jain and other ancient Indic traditions. keeping this tradition alive, its been an year since we have started this organization and we provide livelihood opportunities for the performers of this art form …
